# USGS Wildfires Connector

## Intro

The United States Geological Survey is a scientific agency of the United States government. The scientists of the USGS study the landscape of the United States, its natural resources, and the natural hazards that threaten it. Use Domo's USGS Wildfires connector to retrieve the information about USGS Wildfires in ArcGIS layer metadata format. To find out more about USGS' API, see [https://earthquake.usgs.gov/fdsnws/event/1/](https://earthquake.usgs.gov/fdsnws/event/1/ "https://earthquake.usgs.gov/fdsnws/event/1/").

You connect to your USGS Wildfires account in the Data Center. This topic discusses the fields and menus that are specific to the USGS Wildfires connector user interface. General information for adding DataSets, setting update schedules, and editing DataSet information is discussed in [Adding a DataSet Using a Data Connector](/s/article/360042926274 "Adding a DataSet Using a Data Connector").

## Prerequisites

This connector returns public data, so no credentials are required.

## Connecting to Your USGS Wildfires Account

This section enumerates the options in the **Details** pane in the USGS Wildfires Connector page. The components of the other panes in this page, **Scheduling** and **Name & Describe Your DataSet**, are universal across most connector types and are discussed in greater length in [Adding a DataSet Using a Data Connector](/s/article/360042926274 "Adding a DataSet Using a Data Connector").

### Details Pane

This pane contains a USGS Wildfires report.

<table border="1" cellpadding="1" cellspacing="1" data-aura-rendered-by="33:201;a"><thead><tr><th colspan="1" rowspan="1"><p><span class="s1"> Field </span></p></th><th colspan="1" rowspan="1"><p><span class="s1"> Description </span></p></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td colspan="1" rowspan="1"><p> Report </p></td><td colspan="1" rowspan="1"><table border="1"><tbody><tr><td colspan="1" rowspan="1"> Layers </td><td colspan="1" rowspan="1"> Returns information about USGS Wildfires in ArcGIS (<span> geographic information system) </span> layer metadata format. </td></tr></tbody></table></td></tr></tbody></table>

### Other Panes

For information about the remaining sections of the connector interface, including how to configure scheduling, retry, and update options, see [Adding a DataSet Using a Data Connector](/s/article/360042926274 "Adding a DataSet Using a Data Connector").
