# Amazon Web Service (AWS) EC2 Monitoring Connector

## Intro

Amazon EC2 Monitoring is a service that provides users with data and actionable insights to monitor their EC2 Instances, understand and respond to performance changes, optimize resource utilization, and get a unified view of operational health. Domo delivers the information you need in real-time visualizations, making analysis faster, easier, and more effective. With your EC2 Monitoring data in Domo, you can use Domo's alerts feature to receive notifications when a key metric deviates from your thresholds and needs your attention.

You can connect to your Amazon Web Service (AWS) EC2 Monitoring account in the Data Center. This topic discusses the fields and menus that are specific to the Amazon Web Service (AWS) EC2 Monitoring connector user interface. To add DataSets, set update schedules, and edit DataSet information, see [Adding a DataSet Using a Connector](https://domo-support.domo.com/s/article/360042926274?language=en_US "Adding a DataSet Using a Connector").

## Prerequisites

To connect to your Amazon Web Service (AWS) EC2 Monitoring account and create a DataSet, you need the following:

* Amazon Web Services account's Access Key ID
* Amazon Web Services account's Secret Key

## Connecting to Your Amazon Web Service (AWS) EC2 Monitoring Account

This section enumerates the options in the **Credentials** and **Details** panes on the Amazon Web Service (AWS) EC2 Monitoring Connector page. The components of the other panes on this page, **Scheduling**, and **Name & Describe Your DataSet**, are universal across most connector types and are discussed in great detail in [Adding a DataSet Using a Connector](https://domo-support.domo.com/s/article/360042926274?language=en_US "Adding a DataSet Using a Connector").

## Credentials Pane

This pane contains fields for entering credentials to connect to your Amazon Web Service (AWS) EC2 Monitoring account. The following table describes what is needed for each field:

<table border="1" cellpadding="1" cellspacing="1" data-aura-rendered-by="33:195;a"><thead><tr><th colspan="1" rowspan="1"><p><span class="s1"> Field </span></p></th><th colspan="1" rowspan="1"><p><span class="s1"> Description </span></p></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td colspan="1" rowspan="1"> Access Key </td><td colspan="1" rowspan="1"> Enter the Amazon Web Services account's Access Key ID. </td></tr><tr><td colspan="1" rowspan="1"> AWS Secret Key </td><td colspan="1" rowspan="1"> Enter the Amazon Web Services account's Secret Key. </td></tr></tbody></table>

Once you have entered valid Amazon Web Service (AWS) EC2 Monitoring credentials, you can use the same account at any time to create a new Amazon Web Service (AWS) EC2 Monitoring DataSet. You can manage connector accounts in the **Accounts** tab in the Data Center. For more information about this tab, see [Manage Connector/Adapter Accounts](https://domo-support.domo.com/s/article/360042926054?language=en_US "Manage Connector/Adapter Accounts").
